Yahoo, Adobe team on PDF ads

Yahoo and Adobe are bringing pay-per-click ads to Adobe's Portable Document Format so that publishers can serve up ads inside PDFs distributed on Web sites and over e-mail that are contextually relevant to the content.

The text advertisements appear in a panel to the right of the content in the PDF and are subject matter matched using keywords and analysis of associated concepts. The ads are dynamic, meaning different ads can pop up at different times and clicking on an ad takes you to the advertiser Web site.

Publishers upload their PDF content into Yahoo's ad serving system and then monitor the performance through Yahoo's system. Publishers take a cut of the revenue from each click on the ads and Yahoo will split its share of the revenue per click with Adobe.

The service gives PDF publishers access to Yahoo's network of advertisers and allows them to make money off the content without having their own sales force or having to do the ad insertion themselves, says Josh Jacobs, vice president of publisher solutions at Yahoo.

Intelligent Software Helps Build Perfect Robotic Hand

Scientists in Portsmouth and Shanghai are working on intelligent software that will take them a step closer to building the perfect robotic hand.
Using artificial intelligence, they are creating software which will learn and copy human hand movements.

They hope to replicate this in a robotic device which will be able to perform the dexterous actions only capable today by the human hand.

Dr Honghai Liu, senior lecturer at the University of Portsmouth’s Institute of Industrial Research, and Professor Xiangyang Zhu from the Robotics Institute at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, were awarded a Royal Society grant to further their research.

The technology has the potential to revolutionise the manufacturing industry and medicine and scientists hope that in the future it could be used to produce the perfect artificial limb.

“A robotic hand which can perform tasks with the dexterity of a human hand is one of the holy grails of science,” said Dr Honghai Liu, who lectures artificial intelligence at the University’s Institute of Industrial Research. The Institute specialises in artificial intelligence including intelligent robotics, image processing and intelligent data analysis.

He said: “We are talking about having super high level control of a robotic device.

Nothing which exists today even comes close.”

Dr Liu used a cyberglove covered in tiny sensors to capture data about how the human hand moves. It was filmed in a motion capture suite by eight high-resolution CCD cameras with infrared illumination and measurement accuracy up to a few millimetres.

Professor Xiangyang Zhu from The Robotics Institute at the Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, which is recognised as one of the world-class research institutions on robotics, said that the research partnership would strengthen the interface between artificial intelligence techniques and robotics and pave the way for a new chapter in robotics technology.

“Humans move efficiently and effectively in a continuous flowing motion, something we have perfected over generations of evolution and which we all learn to do as babies. Developments in science mean we will teach robots to move in the same way.”

Shockwave and Flash

I was confused between Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Shockwave.
When i searched out i found that

# they are both from the same company/manufacturer.
# they are both a platform which are used for making visual material optionally mixed with external data from the backend.
# they are both plugins for web browsers.
# they both make use for ActiveX in web browsers.

However, when I thought and thoroughly researched over it, I found a lot of differences - mainly minor ones which a joe user would not know about. So lets sort them out:

Flash
# Is much more widespread.
# More on the "looking good" side.
# Loads faster.
# Can be made with several programs.
# Is used by many designers/developers.
# Is cheaper to master (Macromedia Flash costs near $400).
# Requires you to draw each frame by hand (unless you duplicate a frame into another key-frame).
# Doesn't require much technical knowledge.
# Works in the .SWF Flash Format.
# Is on the 'simple' scripting level.

Shockwave
# Is not as well known as Flash.
# Requires some technical knowledge.
# Can only be created using Macromedia Director.
# Is much more expensive to master (Director costs more than $1,000).
# Has the ability to move around objects (precisely, vector images) as opposed to drawing each one in key-frames.
# Is on an advanced scripting language.
# Works in the .DCR Shockwave format.
# Can integrate Flash into its own format and not vice versa.
# Uses a type of compilation and is much more harder to decode/modify.
# Is mostly used for online games and things that require programming (as opposed to simple video clips or animations).

Vel-Movie review

* Vel

Cast: Surya, Asin, Vadivelu, Lakshmi

Direction: Hari

Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Production: M Chintamani
The D-day has finally arrived and with it comes Vel, one of the much-awaited movies of the festive season. Vel had everyone in the industry as well as the fans wondering whether the successful pair – Surya and Asin – could ignite the silver screen once again after their smash hit Gajini.

The movie has nothing new to offer and has all the aspects that one can expect of director Hari. It has shades of Hari’s earlier ventures all hashed up. Looks like the story has been inspired from good old movies, as its storyline is the stale twins-parted-during-childhood kind and how the family reunites, not to mention the villain somewhere out there wrecking vengeance.

As said earlier, one of the twins, played by Surya, is lost during childhood. A rich man from a village takes him under his care and brings him up, as his own son, naming him Shakthivel a.k.a Vel, who unaware of his true ancestry, grows up a village deary.
Meanwhile, heroine Asin learns about the existence of Vel and informs his twin, Vasu, a detective, who happens to live in the city with his mother. Vasu firmly believes that Vel is his brother and goes to the village to find out the truth. What ensues after this is the usual swapping of roles by the brothers to fight the villains and how the family reunites.
As usual, Surya has given his best. He looks relishing after a year long gap. Asin is her bubbly self as 7up Swathi, enjoying every bit of it. Vadivelu’s comedy is stale barring a few scenes. Music, scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is very average and if one expects it to bring in the crowds to the theatres, then they are in for a rude shock. Brindha and Kalyan’s choreography is very mediocre and has nothing worth mentioning. Nothing novel has been attempted by the cinematographer, Priyan, but the special effects are excellent, particularly in scenes where both the Suryas are shown together.

Vel, before the intermission drags on and on but the second half moves at a faster pace, thanks to the screenplay. But Hari could have made it even crispier.

Overall a usual predictable movie added with all the masala that the fans need for an entertainer.

Polladhavan Movie review..

Polladhavan which casts Danush ,divya ,santhanam ,murali,Daniel, balaji, bhanupriya is very said to be a realistic movie and is a real winner for its performance and style. The violence in some sequences is really undigestable but is justified while the narration of the script and parallel to this shows the ruthless life of the underworld . this is a film with hevy violence in it which makes some section of audience against it . it is a A certified film by the censor board

Nowadays the trend has changed many film makers are banking on the violence element for hits but only 30 % film pass with this . the rest are not at all well taken by the audience and they bomb at the box office .
The story

This movies opens with a gruesome fight of Dhanush with the goons .this movie revolves around the clashes of Mafia and a Middle class Boy .This is justified by the two with their own narrations.

Prabhu who’s character is played by the character danush is a young boy who lives in north chennai playing caroms on the road and living his life fully . there is also distinguish between the lifestyle of the south and north chennai people in a sequence which is very well picturised . the hero’s aim is to own an pulsar bike and must have a girl friend with a sexy figure .

Prabhu one day steals his father’s money and when is caught red handed by his father he replies to him that is was his father responsible for his irresponsible behaviour made him such . prabhu also tells that it is the parents fault when their child is grown up in a spoilt way .

Prabhu’s father with guilty arranges 70 ,000 rupees and gives it to prabhu{ dhanush } to start a business and settle in his future . but prabhu fulfills his dream of owning a bike with this money .

He also manages to woo the heroine whom he met in the bus stand . Now he is on the cloud nine as his dreams are fulfilled within a short span .

When everything seems perfect there is a twist in the story . the underworld comes into limelight . selvam is the leader .

Selvam has a person who is very much trusted by him . but this is not liked by selvam’s younger brother ravi . He develops a personnel grudge against his brother .
Meanwhile prabhus bike is stolen and in search of it prabhu goes into the pangs of the underworld . his passion has made him ner to danger as the whole underworld is against him as prabhu in order to get his stolen bike at any cost conflicts with the mafia.

His life and his parents life are in danger now and how he dela swith this is the rest of the story .

The director Vetrivaran gets his imagination very well carved on the silver screen .he narrates the evil world of mafia and this film is filled with a message at the end.

The director has done his research over the mafia very well . this can be seen on the bike thefting network and the network of the bank thefting which is shown realistically by the research behind it . The mannerism, the dialects of the mafia are very well shown on the screen .

The character of selvam is a highlight to the film . the releationship between a father and a grown up boy is well picturised .

Cameraman Velraj perfectly captured the camera sequences with perfection .
Daniel, bhavan, balaji have very well lived to their characters of the mafia.
Divya with her sexy bulging figure adds the glamour factor to the field .
Karuna adds the comic tinge to the violent script .And bhanupriya and murali act very well . they seem to live their characters than to act .

Gv Prakash has scored a good music and the music has topped the charts now. Its music adds to the success of the film .

Totally this film is a must watch film to youngsters as its message is much needed to the youngsters who go out of the good path in their teens and suffer a lot in their old age .

Totally this film is a hit but it is not for the weak heart people as it is full of violence .

The best of optical illusions..

An optical illusion is any illusion that deceives the human visual system into perceiving something that is not present or incorrectly perceiving what is present.
Here are some of the best ones.

Firefox 3..

Firefox 3 Beta 1After a grueling Alpha development period that included no fewer than nine milestone releases, the first beta of Firefox 3 is now available for testing.

According to Mozilla developers, the Firefox 3 Beta 1 milestone fixes over 11,000 bugs and has almost 2 million lines of code changes in comparison with the current Firefox 2.x browser.

Beyond just bug fixes, Firefox 3 Beta 1 includes a long list of browsing, security, usability and performance improvements over the 2.x version of Firefox.

While Firefox 2.x includes the Google-developed Safe Browsing extension, Firefox 3 Beta 1 provides even greater protection with a one-click info button. All a user needs to do is click on the "favicon" (a 16x16 icon in the browser navigation bar that accompanies URLs) to get information on the identity and ownership of a site.

Google still in the top..

Google last month extended its already substantial lead in the search market, capturing a greater share of the traffic from distant second Yahoo, according to a study released today from online research firm Hitwise.

Google delivered 64.49 percent of all Internet searches made by U.S. users during the four weeks ending Oct. 27, up from 60.94 percent in the same period last year.

Yahoo, by comparison, trended down. Last October, Yahoo provided 22.34 percent of U.S. searches. This year, Yahoo's share fell slightly to 21.65 percent for the month, despite efforts to enhance and add features to its search.

Google gained almost a full percentage point just from September to October of this year, according to the survey. That increase correlates with the 0.9 percent drop in Yahoo's market share from the same period.

Microsoft also saw its market share decline. Last October, searches made through both Live.com and MSN Live accounted for 10.72 percent of the market. That figure dropped to 7.42 percent this year. Like Yahoo, Microsoft recently undertook efforts to roll out new a host of new functions to encourage greater use.

Ask.com proved the only gainer among Google's rivals. During October, Ask.com accounted for 4.76 percent of all U.S. searches, representing a modest gain of less than one-half a percentage point in overall market share, the survey found.

Download of the week..

From this very moment, every week there is gonna be a special post i.e download of the week. And the download of this week is NeoTrace . NeoTrace shows you how packets get from your computer to another computer on the Internet by displaying all nodes between your computer and the trace target. Its a cool tool in which you can see the various routers and servers from where all you get the packets. It also lists you the address of the domain owners (administrators). you can also do it using the telnet applications, but the visual representation in this software is really damn good.

Fedora 8 is released..

Fedora 8 is the latest release from the Fedora project and it is just packed with a slew of exciting new features. Some of the more notable features are Pulse Audio (new Linux Sound System), Codec Buddy, Online-Desktop, Compiz and Gnome 2.20. Fedora 8 also offers a new theme (unique to Fedora) and more visual treats for the desktop user. After using Fedora 7, I was really addicted to that especially a game called 4 in a row. It comes default with all linux systems. So this is the best of all the linux, Comparing to all those Windows, You come to know the process here.

The most disappointing facts about all the linux is that it doesnt have the drivers. Mostly when you are using a Graphic Card you will find out that its a big deal for installing the drivers and letting it performed in a full fledged way.

Google vs Payperpost

It seems very much from the activities of the last week that Google and Payperpost are in a very big battle. Google has continuously been updating the page rank algorithm. Ultimately many bloggers lose their pagerank from 6 to 0 in a week. The reason for this is the paid content. Bloggers are being paid for sponsored reviews which landed up in this mess. Luckily, I dont know how i escaped from this. I have a page rank of 2. One of my barcamp mate from bangalore said me that he called up Google and asked them to return his page rank and after this the Google employees said him to remove all the paid content, after doing this they gave him is page rank back. But I am not able to believe this guy. Its really difficult to talk to Google employees. Lets hope that Google returns the pagerank back to the bloggers who are the victims.

The barcamp is over..

At last the bar camp got over, it was very cool. The IIMB campus was good. It had many collectives, though some were disgusting many were very useful like FLEX and GPS related, Amith Agarwal made his presence there. He is one of the famous Indian bloggers who earns 1000$ through adsense only. Collectives such as SEO( search engine optimisation ) provided to be useless.Due to the CAT and Anna University exams many couldn't turn up. Summing up, Bar camp was very useful.

Gmail to get its updates soon..

I was checking my mail today as usual, but i found something interesting. Its the , So i i quickly stumbled through the Gmail's Official blog.

Google has said it is starting to upgrade the underlying application code of its Gmail service to prepare for adding additional functionality never envisaged when it was first launched in 2004.

Gmail engineer Dan Pupius made reference to the roll out of the upgrade in a company blog. "In the past three and a half years we have launched a number of cool features," he said.

Pupius said the they are making updates so that the speed will be increased, "profiling all parts of the application, shaving milliseconds off wherever we can and figuring out workarounds for some pretty deep-rooted issues with the current browser implementations."

Google updates its PageRank™

Did you notice something different on my blog today? I mean the PageRank™ icon at Google toolbar above!

It is showing a PageRank™ of 2 out of 10. I know, I know there is nothing to boast around with just a PR 2 but I am really happy about it. I was like waiting for so so long, finally I got my blog ranked by Google. I still remember a few weeks back, how I'd always check my Pagerank™ and worried why I am still not ranked (N/A) by Google. But now, I am relieved but I will keep on working on this blog and target a higher PageRank™ on the next update.

And most importantly,

Thanks to my readers, visitors and drop-byers. It is you that keep this blog growing !!

Google will update the PageRank™ once in a while hence we would have no idea when it is going to update again.

Email Forging made easy..

Lets see how to forge an email, its really tough nowdays, since you need to get a website which is less secured.Almost none of the websites allow this kinda mail forging. They are banned. The process is

1. Open a command prompt by clicking Start, Run, and type cmd in the box and press OK. You should get a black "Command Prompt" screen.

2. Find out the name of your ISP's mail server, normally mail.isp.com or smtp.isp.com.

3. Type telnet mail.isp.com 25. 25 is the port number most SMTP servers use.

4. When the mail server responds, you can start typing SMTP commands.

5. Start with HELO blahblah.isp.com. You may have to use your ISP's domain name for it to be accepted.

6. If it says 'pleased to meet you' or something like that, continue with the address you want the mail to come FROM. So, to forge mail from Bill Gates, type MAIL FROM: billg@microsoft.com.

7. If it says Sender OK, type who you want the mail to go to, i.e. your friends address. Type RCPT TO: yourfriend@isp.com

8. If it says Recipient OK, then you can type your message:

  • Type DATA and press Enter.
  • On the first line type Subject: yoursubject and press Enter twice.
  • Continue typing your message, such as 'I'm bill gates and want to send you a billion dollars'.
  • Put a single period (.) on a line by itself and press Enter to send your message. The server should say 'Message accepted for delivery'.
9. You are done. You have just forged an email, and the recipient should be receiving it shortly.

10. You can test to see if a given SMTP server is configured for forwarding by using online tools.

Now in this world where the technologies are increasing in the power of exponential each day, its really a big deal to carry the above process, the damn easy way is below

It does the job of all the telnet stuff :)

Now after forging the mail, its easy to reveal the identity of the sender i.e who forged the email. The reason is all the email which are sent have something called as email headers. The enabling process is explained here.

Its in the form

The IP address of the forger is clearly mentioned in the above mail header. To avoid revealing of identity you must log in to any of the proxy servers such as Proxy1 and switch from these to any other Proxy2 servers( for better security). Then if you do all these multi proxying things, and also caught i will take the responsibility and go to the prison :)

Top 10 Mozilla Firefox keyboard shortcuts you should use!

Mozilla Firefox is my no. 1 web browser and I also must admit that it is the most used application on my desktop. I’m using it on daily basis and as I like to do things fast and in a comfortable way I’m using keyboard shortcuts. I thought that they could help to many of my readers too, so I’d love to share them with you:

1. Ctrl+T [open a new tab]
2. Ctrl+W [close current tab]
3. Alt+D [go to addressbar]
4. Alt+K [go to search bar]
5. Ctrl+Shift+T [reopen the latest closed tab]
6. Ctrl+F [search the page]
7. Ctrl++ or Ctrl+- [increase/decrease text size]
8. F5 [refresh (reload) page]
9. Alt+Home [go to homepage]
10. Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab (or Ctrl+PageUp and Ctrl+PageDown) [go to the next/previous tab]

The order of shortcuts is random as I’m using them also randomly, but those are my most used keyboard shortcuts in Firefox.

Internet Tweaks... Blockin IP address

In this post, lets see how to block IP address to play a prank or to increase bandwidth..

The Hosts file cont ains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. This file is loaded into memory (cache) at startup, then Windows checks the Hosts file before it queries any DNS servers, which enables it to override addresses in the DNS. This prevents access to the listed sites by redirecting any connection attempts back to the local machine. Another feature of the HOSTS file is its ability to block other applications from connecting to the Internet, providing the entry exists.

Now how to use the hosts file efficiently..

  • go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and you can find a file named hosts
  • open the hosts file using notepad or any other text editors

Now how to play using this hosts file...

A typical hosts file looks like the one on the left..

To block an ip:

To block IP's of Advertisement agencies just type 127.0.0.1 followed by the domain name. In this picture , i have blocked ads like www.doubleclick.net as explained using the above procedure. The ip address of 127.0.0.1 is called a loop back address. It just represents your own computer over the internet. Thus by filtering these kinds of ads, you can easily increase your bandwidths.

To play a prank:

Its very easy to play a prank, all you need is to find ip address of the website which you need to be redirected for eg: if u want your browser such that when you type www.hotmail.com and get redirected to www.google.com, you need to find ip of www.google.com by using ping command. Run cmd and type ping www.google.com , you will get the ip of Google. Now type the ip address of Google in the left followed by the domain name which you want to be redirected. Microsoft live search

Microsoft dispatches the beta version and tunes up the new Live Search .According to the Live Search team, the improvements cover four major areas an expanded index (reports say Live now searches 20 billion pages), faster load times, a new look and feel, and more integrated content.

The latest comScore numbers have Microsoft's search property having just 11.3% of the market -- a loss of a percentage compared to the previous month. According to Search Engine Land , Live Search actually has 70 million users per month in the US, reaching 38% of all search engine users. Their search share is just 11%, however, because most of those searchers aren't using Live Search with any regularity. 70 million users searching just a handful of times per month won't catch you up to Google, who logged 9.8 billion searches in August.

So no Search Engine can near Google...

By the way, Yahoo! is changing their algorithm click here for more details...

Evolution of Google...

Back to the past lets see how Google has evolved in this post. I will try to be as brief as possible.
It was in Nov 11,1998 the day Google was born, developed by two stanford university geeks Larry page and Sergey Brin. This is the view of the so called Google! website in 1998, look at the ! at the end of Google! and this is the one and only BETA version that was released by Google. They updated the server only twice in that year.Actually they hosted the website in stanford university's server since the patentship belonged to them initially and also it was only developed as a project work by the team.At the right corner , thers a subscribe button where u get Google updates monthly once. hehe :-) now you can get it once in 5 min...
The archive button on the right lands u to the official Google! forum, it looked like this.

In 1999, they revised the server 12 times, this is the look of Google! in 1998, Google also won
the Pc magazine's award and was a damn big success. We have to submit our website to be cached in Google, now when each page is born, Google is capable to cache itself. In 1999, it was revised 12 times. But still it remained as a BETA version only. There is a huge difference in the logo, the ! is gone. The change was due to the similarity with YAHOO!. They revised the website for about 75 times during 2000.

The year 2001 is a break through for Google since in this year it was revised 600 times. Everything had changed , Google gained its popularity and was capable to search images also, the filtering option was appended during this year.
Google indexed around 1 billion pages . This made a huge success. There was also Google web directory which provided a variety of groups for surfing through Google. They also appended the News tab during this year. The year 2002 and 2003 didn't bring a huge difference to Google. They made changes in server 265 times.2004 was an amazing year for Google, coz it launched gmail ( April ) - the best public mail server in the whole world. Froogle, one of the best online market came into existence during this year. Blogger, orkut came under the copyrights of Google. Google gained its popularity due to the mail server only.
Google in 2006 appended the Video tool where we can upload and watch movies, but later it purchased youtube for $1.65 billion in October. Google has the whole control of internet. From a complex Mail server to simple bookmarks it has solution.Google Earth was also launched during this year. It wasn't a success though but gained crowd.Google is now recognized as the best company.Just type "google buys" in ur search tool bar. It proves. Now you have a search engine, mail server, social networking groups like orkut, blogger, bookmarks analytics etc etc under a single lay and thats Google..

Steve Jobs Speaks the Truth About the iPhone Price Drop

As my blogmate barbi mentioned about the iphone price slashed by 200$ . Apple lowered the price of the iPhone because it wants to make lots more money by selling them in deluge this Christmas.

In his own words
(Steve Jobs), “we have the chance to ‘go for it’ this holiday season.”

Whatever share Apple has of the people willing to spend $600 for a phone, the market of people willing to spend $400 is far bigger, and frankly the market for people willing to spend $200 is far, far bigger than that. The thought on why the price drop doesn’t mean sales have been slow. The central rule of technology is that the unit price drops sharply with volume. If Apple sold more than it hoped, then it would achieve scale faster and would be able to drop prices sooner. The actual cost of ipod 8 gb is $226.61 and that of 4 gb is $ 24 less than the former.

I hope the sale will drastically increase the sales of ipod :-) since there are many ipod lovers out there including me :) .

GOOGLE MAY END...

There may be a full stop to GOOGLE since it doesnt yield the website based on the data it holds, It gives the result based on the number of hits i.e PAGE RANK. According to Professor Josang QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY, "Just because a website ranks highly on a search engine doesn't mean it's a good website, in fact highly ranked websites can be malicious websites "

His perspective is to rank website not based on hits , it would be better if theres a ranking based on reputation. It may be done by a community of users , thus the website gets assured of its quality. With this system, aware users can rate such websites as malicious and as a result a phishing site will be quickly and universally recognised as dangerous, warning unsuspecting users against visiting that site.

In today's technologically advanced world of business, high ranking of a company's web page is a crucial factor for its success. This is why the control of search engines is so important and why it can be financially worthwhile for businesses to manipulate the system. He is on a research now to integrate the concept of reputation along with number of hits(PAGE RANK).

If this becomes a succes, I think GOOGLE will come to an end.

when there's no GOOGLE....

Statistics show that there are about some 1o crore website governing the internet, but theres is one website dominating thats GOOGLE. Just consider a scenario when theres no GOOGLE,WIKIPEDIA and YAHOO.I love GOOGLE. I dont know the reason for my liking.Internet is ruling the world.Blogging is creating a new revolution. From shopping to learning, internet is of use. GOOGLE plays a very important role in internet. It just provides the best pages for the given queried words.

Just have a look of the pics.

This is the trend of google in the future. When there's no google
  • you wont be able to search anything in the internet coz thats the reason why google is made
  • no mailservers, online docs etc etc
  • no more orkut so no online addicts
  • no youtube. you will be missing all your favourite music and videos
  • good bye to blogspot
Whatever is success GOOGLE just buys them eg.YOUTUBE ,ORKUT and also BLOGSPOT.Thus in short, if there is no google theres no internet. What i mean is that a nice website gets unnoticed.

Safari VS Mozilla Firefox

Apple at last launched its one of all time favourite Safari Web browser Beta version...the review
is available in apple site itself. But i am going to write my perspective safari 3.03.

1. The new Safari is really fast.It is 2 times faster than Internet Explorer and 1.6 times than Mozilla Firefox.
(apple review).Yes it is,i tried some sites,i can really find the difference.Shreyas too claimed that GOOGLE gets loaded very fast in safari.

2.Clear type fonts.you can feel the difference by enlarging the image.Safari has the best fonts.I bet there is 50% more clarity when compared to Mozilla firefox.

3.Better User Interface. The interface is good and stylish. Its nice when compared to Mozilla.
The bookmarks is better, also there is privacy.

4.Tabbed Browsing. The tabbed browsing experience has become better,we can drag and drop tabs anywhere in multiple tabs and also that we can open a new tab in another safari window.

5.Built in RSS feedback.

I tried this and its really nice compared to mozilla.i feel sorry for mozilla lovers..

IS GOOGLE TRUSTABLE...

Imagine being able to acesss all our important documents from any computer with an internet connection or never having an internet with the help of Microsoft Office paying 400$ and free updates when necessary.A humble browser serving all the needs thats GOOGLE.GOOGLE-started from Search engine, found its birth a decade ago,now its facing a tough battle with microsoft and one important thing to mention is that this is open source.

The working of web applications are simple: rather than running on our computer,it runs on a server. We just interact with it using our browser. We no need to update it since the browser shows the updated documents also that as it is stored in the server,we can access it in any computer any where around the world.

GOOGLE the biggest and one amazing company generating buzz for the growing collection of web applications. It includes a word processor Docs and a spreadsheet program called Spreadsheets also a calendar is available. Can this replace the 400$ worth MS OFFICE?
The answer is definitely no..perhaps an hacker hacks through GOOGLE database and performs some operations on it (or) if a google employee gains control of our information., what are we supposed to do?Also that GOOGLE has given us GUARANTEE stating that the information will be safe. It's also true that GOOGLE saves many copies of our data in various locations around the world, and that deleting would be tough task and that there will be backup available and in some way the information goes to wrong hands.

According to me,you can trust GOOGLE to store mails, documents etc....If you are working with something confidential storing in online anywhere is absolutely trouble.

Optimised search

What do we do when we want to download something like videos,music,ebooks?....wat i do actually is go through forums and download or some beginners may go for GOOGLE , the best search engine in this universe, but what do we type in the search box? .. may be your query string..theres an optimised way to search ebooks, videos and audios..just paste the required

* Find Music: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:"index of" +"last modified" +"parent directory" +description +size +(wma|mp3) "In the End"

* Find Videos: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:"index of" +"last modified" +"parent directory" +description +size +(mpg|wmv) "In the end"

* Find Ebooks: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:"index of" +"last modified" +"parent directory" +description +size +(pdf|doc) "Harry Potter"

u may enter the query string in the place of "In the End" etc...
What it actually does is a search in which it lists out all the parent directory of files in database...

Interesting?

My Experience with Fedora

Being my first post on fedora, it describes how i got a new system and some little problems which I faced with fedora...

It was exactly a month before that exactly my entire system got ruined. It was 2 months before when i installed FEDORA CORE 7 in my computer(the next day it got released). For the first time i didn't know how to partition so my entire hard disk got formatted.I dint worry because i had nothing much more important in my hdd. Then the next problems which i faced were really many,my x driver got crashed. My mother board got ruined once when i tried to fix SD PC133 RAM in PC100 port.thats the reason for me gettin my new computer.I thought my FEDORA will work well in this system since its core2duo and 2 gb ram.

But as soon as i installed my fedora,it was really fantastic especially the beryl. It all started when i changed my Display properties.I was really jealous i changed it to 1440*1040 since mine is a 19" monitor. But now its not working anymore and i dont know how to change it.If i find a solution for this,i will surely post.

regards,
Schroedinbugs

AWESOME GOOGLE.....

After a long time i am updating my blog, i had no interesting stuffs to amaze u, sry..

Today i was in a very critical situation, i had no Adobe pdf reader and i was to view a pdf document within few moments, i was searching in google for this viewer. After a few seconds there was a couple of adobe pdf viewers getting downloaded...65 mb. Then i thought for a moment, the best way to view a document is to convert it in to HTML and view it with the help of my browser. Now the search is for the convertor to convert my pdf to HTML..Again it was the same google, now in search of a convertor...6 mb.

then, i was thinkin for a moment and an awesome idea striked me...we have our gmail and why the hell are we in search of convertors??...then the next few things which i did was...(this is for the one who dont hav gmail id also)

1. Compose a new message in GMail. (If you are still without a GMail account, plz send me ur mail id)

2. Attach any PDF or Word document that you want to convert to HTML You can attach multiple files in this step by clicking Attach another File.

3. Enter your own email address in the To: box and click send.

4. You instantly receive a message in your GMail Inbox folder. Open the message and click the "View as HTML" link next to your attachment.

5. The contents of your attachment appear as HTML in a new browser window without having to download the file. When you're finished reading the attached file, close the new browser window to return to Gmail or Save the file to your harddrive.

when i searched on de net on what type of files the google can convert, i found out that it can
show the following types of files as HTML: .pdf, .doc, .xls, .ppt, .rtf, .sxw, .sxc, .sxi, .sdw, .sdc, .sdd, and .wml.

wow....thanks to google for viewing my pdf in seconds...

OH MY GOD

this is one of the best tweaks according to me as well as most of the viewers who are gonna read this out...

every one uses folder lock or something like that to hide all the files instead of the best inbuild modification available in windows....no one can view this, all u hav to do is trust me and do the following to hide files..

you are goin to disguise the folder which u hav to recycle bin..

consider this screen-shot and i want
the sivaji songs to be in such a way thatits not accesible to anyone except me

remember one thing this can be done only to folders

do the following things...

1.Go to that file and rename it as

sivaji.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
instead of the starting a u can have anything which u want the file name to be.

2.Thus the folder's files will become in such a format that u cant access it...

3.To make it to the normal form all u hav to do is, again press F2
and type
ren sivaji.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} sivaji

according to me this is the best way to hide files..

back to tweaking..

Hey folks, do u know that windows XP is having a hidden "Star Wars Movie" inside it???
You should be connected to the NET for using this.
Go to Starts-->Programs-->Run
Type
telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl
And hit enter......... Enjoy the magic!!!!

Windows Tweaking........part 1(cont)

This is an alternative to my previous post....It was really tough finding out where the start was in the Hex part..so i came up wid this post to help u and learn more abt tweaking...

Now ,You can download resource hacker, a very useful tool in tweakin windows...
Always create a backup..An illeg
al operation may cause a windows crash so beware...

Now open ur explorer with th
is reshac.exe.

This is how a resource hacker looks when an explorer file being opened....This software is used in various hackin...you will see in the upcomin posts...

Now u hav to move to StringTable 38-1033....
and in that "Start",You hav to replace it by ur desired name...

Now if you are really tired by seeing that "click to start",you can change it by moving to String table 34-1033,you can save ur work and then move to regedit and do as mentioned in the above post...

Windows Tweaking........part 1

Normal is always boring....

A normal microsoft windows start button is shown.....If you had a thought to tweak or customize ur windows wat wud u do?

Always remember that when u opearate ur PC, you should control the PC and not the vice-versa...

Now how to customize ur start button...

Few steps to change ur "start" to any 5 letter word...

All u need is just a Hex-editor ( this is a free- ware available )

Step 1:
All u need to do is just go to your windows drive and copy ur explorer.exe.......Place it in 2 or more drive 1 for back up and the other one to be modified...change one of the name to explorer1.exe

Step 2:
Now having changed the name, open the explorer1.exe with the help of the Hex editor....
If you are using the enhanced windows ,you will get the offset value as 412b0....it also depends
on the service pack u use....

Step 3:
you hav to just change the ascii value to ur desired 5 letter word...if you dont know the ascii value just move the cursor to start click on s and change it to the alphabet which u like...you hav to change it only in this place...dont use find and replace since it replaces all ...Now u hav to save this explorer1.exe in the windows drive itself...

Step 4:
All you need to do now is change the work and close the editor...Now go to regedit using run..
and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and find the key shell.....After u find this just right click and modify to the filename in which u hav modified and saved....

Step 5:
Now u hav to reboot ur computer to open the modified explorer....

Thus u can change ur start .....

isnt steve job amazing....

Its 2 min to 12 to start a fresh morning and i am writing this blog...this post just tells wat i did for the past one hour....1 hr before i was really bored and was just lookin for videos on iphone(a really cool gadget)...then i saw some one demonstrating abt that stuff...that someone was none other than the CEO of apple & pixar graphics it was Steve Jobs...then i thought why not learn abt his biography...again i typed in my toolbar Steve jobs...as usual a bunch of lists was placed on my screen.then i saw one link the title was "Steve jobs graduation in stanford university"..i clicked on that link...for the next 14 min i was really amazed by this person...
At first i thought him to be a normal programmer who is good in coding and all those stuff but later i found that he is one of the person who discontinued from the richest stanford universtiy learnin the first 6 months on 3 years...he actually didnt know what to do....his mom wanted him to be a doctor...but he was without any specific aim...he spent many months useless...then one day he started learning abt typography( a language related to spacing of fonts and all abt that).he never knew what he was gonna do...
After 10 years...he learnt a bit of computer..and started writing a code for an OS....this OS is nothing but MAC OS...He was the genuine person to introuduce the concept of multitypology...He says that windows just copied from them..All wat he learnt discontinuing his college helped him a lot...the story is not yet over....they start a company by name apple...after some years recruiting some trusted members....the vision gets diverged, that is his idea dint suit with a crew of 30 board of directors so he gets fired from his own company(cant believe this0??
this is an other shock for one of CEO who build this company..then with a handful of members he started a company by name PIXAR, a graphics oriented company..Due to his hardwork and innovative talents this company becomes the best graphic company of the world...
Wat happens next is that the members from apple come again an offers him the job...

cant believe this...u hav to....
