Google updates its PageRank™

Did you notice something different on my blog today? I mean the PageRank™ icon at Google toolbar above!

It is showing a PageRank™ of 2 out of 10. I know, I know there is nothing to boast around with just a PR 2 but I am really happy about it. I was like waiting for so so long, finally I got my blog ranked by Google. I still remember a few weeks back, how I'd always check my Pagerank™ and worried why I am still not ranked (N/A) by Google. But now, I am relieved but I will keep on working on this blog and target a higher PageRank™ on the next update.

And most importantly,

Thanks to my readers, visitors and drop-byers. It is you that keep this blog growing !!

Google will update the PageRank™ once in a while hence we would have no idea when it is going to update again.

Check your PageRank™ here

Mozilla Top 5 addons..

Though there are a lot of add-ons available out there, Some add-ons are mandatory and useful too...
First you must stop using Internet Explorer and choose the one and only Firefox. Ignite the web using Firefox 2.

The list goes like this

1. STUMBLE UPON
The God of mine, guys if u dont know how to make a proper use of de so called internet just give this a try. Its damn simple just get yourself registered in the above link and the respective add-on. You can see the time flying off.Its absolutely nice to use stumble upon. You can choose the categories according to your interest and surf on the websites which you like. Actually it just generates the top ranked pages of Google according to the tags of interest.

2.FIREBUG
Being a blogger, you are always interested in customizing the looks etc etc. Firebug is the best to choose. Its just a simple tool using which you can inspect each and every element in your source code. It also lists out the DOM structure of each and every element present in the source code. It helps you to customize webpages too. You can change the width height etc to any size and reciprocate the same in the source code later.

3.GREASE MONKEY
This is the all time favourites of all Firefox users. Its an add-on in which you can write some java scripts and save it corresponding to some domain name. Each time the domain gets loaded, the java script gets executed. If you dont know to write java scripts, no worries. All you have to do is just visit userscripts website. Else Google on the book dive in to grease monkey. This will be very helpful to you. Helps in customizing all the things in the internet.

4.WEB DEVELOPER
Another best add-on for web developers out there, this installs a tool bar in which you can play with disabling CSS and edit it according to your wish. It has many other options like display images, edit it accordingly etc etc

4.DOWNLOAD STATUSBAR
View your downloads infor in a tidy statusbar - without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing.

5.Foxy Tunes
Another nice add-on which integrates the mp3 toolbar of any players by selecting the respective options. Without shifting to winamp just stop, play pause etc...

More add-ons are available. The above here are the top 5 (Rated by me).

Email Forging made easy..

Lets see how to forge an email, its really tough nowdays, since you need to get a website which is less secured.Almost none of the websites allow this kinda mail forging. They are banned. The process is

1. Open a command prompt by clicking Start, Run, and type cmd in the box and press OK. You should get a black "Command Prompt" screen.

2. Find out the name of your ISP's mail server, normally mail.isp.com or smtp.isp.com.

3. Type telnet mail.isp.com 25. 25 is the port number most SMTP servers use.

4. When the mail server responds, you can start typing SMTP commands.

5. Start with HELO blahblah.isp.com. You may have to use your ISP's domain name for it to be accepted.

6. If it says 'pleased to meet you' or something like that, continue with the address you want the mail to come FROM. So, to forge mail from Bill Gates, type MAIL FROM: billg@microsoft.com.

7. If it says Sender OK, type who you want the mail to go to, i.e. your friends address. Type RCPT TO: yourfriend@isp.com

8. If it says Recipient OK, then you can type your message:

  • Type DATA and press Enter.
  • On the first line type Subject: yoursubject and press Enter twice.
  • Continue typing your message, such as 'I'm bill gates and want to send you a billion dollars'.
  • Put a single period (.) on a line by itself and press Enter to send your message. The server should say 'Message accepted for delivery'.
9. You are done. You have just forged an email, and the recipient should be receiving it shortly.

10. You can test to see if a given SMTP server is configured for forwarding by using online tools.

Now in this world where the technologies are increasing in the power of exponential each day, its really a big deal to carry the above process, the damn easy way is below

It does the job of all the telnet stuff :)

Now after forging the mail, its easy to reveal the identity of the sender i.e who forged the email. The reason is all the email which are sent have something called as email headers. The enabling process is explained here.

Its in the form

Subject: Hi

The IP address of the forger is clearly mentioned in the above mail header. To avoid revealing of identity you must log in to any of the proxy servers such as Proxy1 and switch from these to any other Proxy2 servers( for better security). Then if you do all these multi proxying things, and also caught i will take the responsibility and go to the prison :)

Top 10 Mozilla Firefox keyboard shortcuts you should use!

Mozilla Firefox is my no. 1 web browser and I also must admit that it is the most used application on my desktop. I’m using it on daily basis and as I like to do things fast and in a comfortable way I’m using keyboard shortcuts. I thought that they could help to many of my readers too, so I’d love to share them with you:

1. Ctrl+T [open a new tab]
2. Ctrl+W [close current tab]
3. Alt+D [go to addressbar]
4. Alt+K [go to search bar]
5. Ctrl+Shift+T [reopen the latest closed tab]
6. Ctrl+F [search the page]
7. Ctrl++ or Ctrl+- [increase/decrease text size]
8. F5 [refresh (reload) page]
9. Alt+Home [go to homepage]
10. Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab (or Ctrl+PageUp and Ctrl+PageDown) [go to the next/previous tab]

The order of shortcuts is random as I’m using them also randomly, but those are my most used keyboard shortcuts in Firefox.

Internet Tweaks... Blockin IP address

In this post, lets see how to block IP address to play a prank or to increase bandwidth..

The Hosts file cont ains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. This file is loaded into memory (cache) at startup, then Windows checks the Hosts file before it queries any DNS servers, which enables it to override addresses in the DNS. This prevents access to the listed sites by redirecting any connection attempts back to the local machine. Another feature of the HOSTS file is its ability to block other applications from connecting to the Internet, providing the entry exists.

Now how to use the hosts file efficiently..

  • go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and you can find a file named hosts
  • open the hosts file using notepad or any other text editors

Now how to play using this hosts file...

A typical hosts file looks like the one on the left..

To block an ip:

To block IP's of Advertisement agencies just type 127.0.0.1 followed by the domain name. In this picture , i have blocked ads like www.doubleclick.net as explained using the above procedure. The ip address of 127.0.0.1 is called a loop back address. It just represents your own computer over the internet. Thus by filtering these kinds of ads, you can easily increase your bandwidths.

To play a prank:

Its very easy to play a prank, all you need is to find ip address of the website which you need to be redirected for eg: if u want your browser such that when you type www.hotmail.com and get redirected to www.google.com, you need to find ip of www.google.com by using ping command. Run cmd and type ping www.google.com , you will get the ip of Google. Now type the ip address of Google in the left followed by the domain name which you want to be redirected. In the above picture, i have redirected my browser from www.hotmail.com to www.google.com 64.233.189.104 is the ip of Google.

NOTE : YOU HAVE TO SHUTDOWN THE BROWSER AND REOPEN FOR THE CHANGES TO TAKE PLACE
